Existing TIR light pipe installation at my home town train station in Beacon, New York. It’s been there for 7 years. Winter, spring, summer, fall, year after year—it still looks good and delivers great performance.

TIR stands for tubular internal re-fraction. TIR Systems, were based in Vancouver, Canada, and the very first to bounce light from a metal halide lamp, down an acrylic tube that had reflective tape in it. They would also go on to create the first exterior architectural performance driven RGB fixtures.

TIR Systems, were acquired by Phillips in 2007.
